Joohyang Claire Bae is an experienced jewelry appraiser with specialized training from  world renowned GIA(Gemological Institute of America). Claire earned the distinguished level of “Diamond Grader” during her tenor there: along side several notable achievements in specialized courses such as “Graduate Gemologist and Designing subsequently, Claire has worked side by side with a few of southern California’s most respected Jewelry Appraisers where her skills and experience served well, Most recently, Claire has begun offering her services independently and has since opened “My Jewelry Appraiser” located in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona.

Your appraisal is performed according to the Uniform Standards of Professional
Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and those of both the American and the International
Societies of Appraisers. More details...

Appraising your items while you wait; Examination and necessary tests
are performed while you watch.

Your appraisal is a bound report and includes a full description, a digital image
and a plot of all diamonds over half a carat. (additional fee required)

You will walk away with your jewelry, and, barring anything extraordinary,
you will receive the bound report at the end of your appointment. (depends number of items, please contact us for more information).

Appraisal

Your appraisal will be professionally prepared to the highest standards.
Your appraisal will be performed according to the Uniform Standards of
Professional Appraisal Practice and those of the American Society of Appraisers.

Each piece of jewelry will be weighed, measured, and described in detail.

  • Gemstones will be cleaned, identified, graded, measured, and their weights calculated.
  • Metal content will be determined.
  • All diamonds over ½ carat will be issued a stone certificate, with color, clarity and cutting angles listed.
  • Your appraisal will have enlarged color photos of the items.
  • Your appraisal will explain the grading systems used.
  • An explanation of the definition of value will be included, along with the instructions for the appropriate use of the appraisal document.
